CyberPeace Research Wing’s research found the viral claim to be false. The research revealed that the video is not from a real incident but was created using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and is being circulated with a false narrative.

Fact Check
To verify the claim, we extracted multiple keyframes from the viral video and conducted a reverse image search using Google Lens. During the search, we did not find any credible news report or reliable source confirming that the video was related to any attack on Iran’s South Pars gas field.
In the next step of the research, we analysed the video using the AI detection tool Deepfake-O-Meter. The tool’s results indicated that the viral video was approximately 100% likely to be AI-generated.
For further verification, we also checked the video using another AI detection tool, DetectVideo AI. The analysis showed that the video had a 64% probability of being AI-generated.
Conclusion
Our research found that the viral claim is false. The video does not show any real attack on Iran’s South Pars natural gas field. The footage was found to be AI-generated and is being shared on social media with a misleading claim.

A closer examination of the scene, crowd, and visuals clearly shows that the video is unrelated to the rituals or context of Mahakumbh 2025. Additionally, our research found that such activities are not part of the Mahakumbh rituals. Reputable sources were also kept into consideration to cross-verify this information, effectively debunking the claim and emphasizing the importance of verifying facts before believing in anything.

The posts surfaced after a 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Kota Ternate in eastern Indonesia in the early hours of April 2, 2026, killing one person after a building collapse, as reported by international media.
To verify the authenticity of the images, we conducted reverse image and keyword searches on Google. The first image was found to be part of a wider photograph published by The Associated Press on January 15, 2021.
The third image was traced to Getty Images, which published it on October 2, 2018. According to its description, the image shows rubble and debris around a mosque in Palu, Central Sulawesi, following a 7.5-magnitude earthquake.
These findings confirm that the viral images are unrelated to the recent earthquake and have been taken from older incidents.

The viral claim is misleading. The images circulating online do not show the aftermath of the April 2026 earthquake in Indonesia. Instead, they are old visuals from previous earthquakes, reused with a false and misleading context.

There are multiple anomalies as we can see in the picture attached below, (highlighted in red circle) the police officer grabbing Adani’s arm has six fingers. Adani’s other hand is completely absent. The left eye of an officer (marked in blue) is inconsistent with the right. The faces of officers (marked in yellow and green circles) appear distorted, and another officer (shown in pink circle) appears to have a fully covered face. With all this evidence the picture is too distorted for an image to be clicked by a camera.
A thorough examination utilizing AI detection software concluded that the image was synthetically produced.

A viral image circulating of the public arrest of Gautam Adani after a US court accused of bribery. After analysing the image, it is proved to be an AI-Generated image and there is no authentic information in any news articles. Such misinformation spreads fast and can confuse and harm public perception. Always verify the image by checking for visual inconsistency and using trusted sources to confirm authenticity.
