In the final stage of our research, we found a report on an Instagram account named ‘nepalinlast24hours’. According to the report, Indian Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth arrived in Kathmandu on his first foreign visit after taking command of the Indian Army on June 30, 2026. He was welcomed by senior Nepal Army officials at Tribhuvan International Airport.
The report stated that during his four-day visit, General Seth was scheduled to meet Nepal’s Prime Minister Balendra Shah and Nepal Army Chief Ashok Raj Sigdel. Additionally, he was scheduled to be conferred with the honorary rank of General of the Nepal Army at a special ceremony at Sheetal Niwas on Monday.This tradition between India and Nepal dates back to 1950. Under the arrangement, the army chiefs of both countries are conferred with honorary military ranks in each other’s armies.

We conducted a reverse image search using keyframes from the viral video. During the search, we found a report published on the Dainik Bhaskar website on February 23, 2022, which featured the same video. According to the report, polling in Sonbhadra was scheduled for March 7 as part of the seventh phase of the Assembly elections. During the election campaign, Bhupesh Chaubey, the BJP MLA and candidate from the Robertsganj Assembly constituency, was seen adopting an unusual approach. He stood on a chair, held his ears and performed sit-ups on the chair, apologising to the public for the mistakes he had made over the previous five years.The link to the report and a screenshot are provided below.

Focus areas for the India-Russia friendship remain energy, innovation, space, fertilisers and people-to-people linkages.”

At the end of our research, we found a report published on the Aaj Tak website on September 1, 2026. According to the report, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, where he attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit. Several leaders of the organisation, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, also attended the summit. During the summit, a moment was captured in which PM Modi warmly greeted Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin together, while Shehbaz Sharif was seen quietly walking past them.
Conclusion:
Our research established that the claim that Russian President Vladimir Putin ignored Prime Minister Narendra Modi and gave preference to the Pakistani Prime Minister is misleading. The viral post presents video footage from different occasions out of context. A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video on Google did not yield any credible media reports related to the video. Upon closely examining the viral video, we suspected that it might be AI-generated. We subsequently scanned the video using the AI detection tool Hive Moderation. According to the results, the video has a 99 percent probability of being AI-generated.

To debunk the viral claim, we searched Google using relevant keywords. However, we could not find any credible media reports confirming the claim. As the next step in our research, we also checked the status of trains arriving at and departing from Chapra Railway Station. We reasoned that if the station had actually been submerged to the extent shown in the video, rail operations would likely have been disrupted and some trains might have been cancelled. However, our research found no information about any train operating from Chapra being cancelled.
Upon closely examining the viral video, we suspected that it might be AI-generated. We subsequently scanned the video using the AI detection tool Hive Moderation. According to the tool’s results, the viral video was found to be 99 percent AI-generated.
As part of the next step of our research, we scanned the viral video using another AI detection tool, Wasitai AI. According to the tool’s results, the viral video is AI-generated.

According to the report, a herd of wild elephants coming from the Gerua River reached the gates of the Chaudhary Charan Singh Ghaghra Barrage in Bahraich district, Uttar Pradesh, due to the strong current of the river. The report also quoted the Forest Range Officer as saying that the area is adjacent to an elephant corridor, which is why elephants frequently move through the region.

At around 1:30 pm, an ammonia gas chamber used for cooling at the cold storage exploded, causing the building’s walls and roof to collapse. Several workers were trapped under the debris in the accident.

Moreover, even as the bridge collapses, the people on it do not appear to fall directly into the water. These observations led us to suspect that the video was likely AI-generated.
We scanned the viral video using the AI detection tool ‘WasItAI’, which identified it as 99 percent AI-generated.
Meanwhile, another AI detection tool, Sightengine, also identified the video as 99 percent AI-generated.
Conclusion:

To verify the authenticity of the viral images, the desk first conducted a reverse image search. However, the search did not lead us to any credible media reports or original sources featuring these images. We then closely examined the images. The analysis revealed several anomalies in the structure of the buildings, the vehicles visible on the road, and other elements in the images, further strengthening the suspicion that they were AI-generated. We then scanned the viral image using the AI detection tool Hive Moderation. The tool’s analysis indicated a 99 percent likelihood that the image was AI-generated.

Among them, a nearly two-minute-long video uploaded on January 16, 2025, also contains visuals similar to those seen in the viral clip. Additionally, our research found that the Columbia Glacier featured in Ligh’s video is located near Valdez, Alaska.
