About:

The United Service Institution (USI) of India is India's premium tri-service think tank, established in 1870. USI undertakes research and debates in the fields of strategic security, geopolitics, strategic net assessment, military affairs, military heritage, and UN peacekeeping. It deals with the UN Peace Operations at the policy and doctrine level. It also undertakes professional skill development programs for policymakers and promotes the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (Indigenisation of Defence Industry) program.

The Indian Centre for UN Peacekeeping (CUNPK) was established in 2000 by the USI and nurtured for 12 years to attain the status of Excellence in UN Peacekeeping Training, which is now a part of the Indian Army. Currently the Centre for United Nations Doctrine & Policy (CUNDP) of USI collaborates actively with international institutions like the Challenges Forum, the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI), the Effectiveness of Peace Operations (EPON), the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

In line with this esteemed legacy, USI is set to host USIMUN-2025, a prestigious Model United Nations (MUN) conference, on April 26-27, 2025, at the USI campus in Shankar Vihar, New Delhi.

Curated by the “Empowerment by Capacity Building (ECB) Sustainable Youth Foundation”, a youth-led organisation accredited by UN agencies, United Service Institution Model United Nations (USIMUN) will provide a dynamic platform for young delegates to engage in global diplomacy, foster international collaboration, and cultivate leadership skills in the context of global governance.
