The event brought together distinguished leaders, academicians, and cybersecurity experts from national and international institutions to celebrate the launch of this collaborative initiative.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by several eminent personalities from the global cybersecurity and technology ecosystem. The distinguished guests included Mr. Jay Bavisi, Founder and Chairman of EC-Council; Ms. Anna Sytnik, Associate Professor at Saint Petersburg State University; Ms. Carly Ramsey, Director and Head of Public Policy (APJC) at Cloudflare; Ms. Ranjana Jha, Vice Chancellor of IGDTUW; and Mr. Vineet Kumar, Founder and Global President of CyberPeace Foundation. Their presence highlighted the growing importance of international collaboration in strengthening cyber resilience and building secure digital ecosystems.
During the event, speakers emphasised the need for building a strong cybersecurity talent pipeline, especially among women, and highlighted the importance of academic–industry partnerships in addressing emerging cyber threats. The leaders shared insights on the evolving cyber threat landscape, the importance of digital trust, and the role of capacity building in securing digital infrastructure.
The newly established Cyber Center of Excellence (CCoE) was envisioned as a dynamic platform that would promote cyber innovation, research, skill development, and knowledge sharing. The centre aimed to empower women in technology by providing specialised training, research opportunities, and hands-on learning experiences in cybersecurity and emerging technologies.
The initiative also focused on strengthening research and development activities in areas such as cyber defence, digital safety, cyber policy, and cybercrime investigation. Through collaborative programmes, workshops, training modules, and research projects, the centre planned to create a robust ecosystem that supports innovation and capacity building in the cybersecurity domain.
Aligned with national priorities, the centre was designed to contribute to India’s broader national security objectives by nurturing skilled cyber professionals and developing strategic research capabilities. Under the CCoE framework, the centre intended to organise capacity-building programmes, policy dialogues, academic collaborations, and technology-driven initiatives that support secure digital transformation.
The inauguration of the IGDTUW–CyberPeace Cyber Center of Excellence marked the beginning of a collaborative journey aimed at strengthening cyber awareness, research excellence, and skill development. The initiative reflected a shared commitment between academia, industry, and civil society to build a safer, smarter, and more resilient digital future for India.
