Event Overview

The e-Raksha Hackathon 2026 was successfully inaugurated as an official pre-summit event of the IndiaAI Impact Summit 2026, Global CyberPeace Summit 2.0, and BECon 2026 at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi campus. Hosted at the RNI Building, the 36-hour innovation sprint brought together a diverse cohort of innovators, technologists, researchers, and problem-solvers to collaboratively develop impactful solutions addressing emerging challenges in cyber resilience and national security.

The hackathon served as a dynamic platform for interdisciplinary collaboration, enabling participants to leverage emerging technologies, including Responsible AI, to address complex cybersecurity challenges while contributing to the broader vision of building a secure and resilient digital ecosystem for India.

Inaugural Session

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the esteemed presence of distinguished dignitaries from government and strategic policy domains who formally marked the commencement of the hackathon.

The session featured Dr. Gaurab Gupta, Director at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Maj. Sadhna Singh (Retd.), Consultant – Home & Defence at the NITI Aayog, and Vineet Kumar, Founder of CyberPeace.

Their presence underscored the national significance of fostering innovation and collaborative problem-solving in areas critical to cybersecurity, digital governance, and responsible technology development.

Key Highlights

During the inaugural session, a dynamic and interactive discussion took place among the dignitaries, creating an engaging environment for strategic dialogue. The conversation focused on several important themes shaping India’s digital and security landscape, including:

  • The evolving landscape of national security in the digital era
  • The role of Responsible AI in governance, defence, and public systems
  • Strengthening India’s cyber ecosystem through innovation-driven interventions

These discussions offered valuable insights and strategic direction to participants, inspiring them as they began their 36-hour innovation journey.

Hackathon Proceedings

Throughout the hackathon, participants engaged in intensive ideation, design, and prototyping processes aimed at engineering scalable and sustainable cybersecurity solutions. The event fostered a high-energy environment that encouraged collaboration across disciplines, enabling teams to combine expertise in technology, policy, and cybersecurity.

The CyberPeace mentoring team played a pivotal role during the hackathon by actively guiding participants through critical aspects of solution development. Mentors supported teams in problem framing, secure system design, Responsible AI practices, and the integration of real-world cyber resilience use cases.

Through hands-on mentoring sessions and rapid feedback mechanisms, teams were able to refine their ideas, strengthen their prototypes, and align their innovations with broader national security priorities. The mentorship process helped transform early-stage concepts into impact-oriented technological solutions capable of addressing contemporary cyber challenges.

From conceptualisation to execution, the hackathon provided a structured pathway for participants to translate innovative ideas into practical and scalable prototypes, aligned with the larger goal of building a safer and more secure digital India.

Conclusion

The successful inauguration and execution of the e-Raksha Hackathon 2026 marked the beginning of a transformative journey toward strengthening cyber resilience and advancing national security priorities.

The event not only nurtured innovation-driven approaches to cybersecurity but also reinforced the importance of collaboration between government, academia, industry, and civil society. By combining mentorship, innovation, and strategic dialogue, the hackathon reaffirmed the collective commitment of stakeholders toward enhancing India’s digital safety ecosystem.

As part of the broader vision leading up to the IndiaAI Impact Summit 2026, Global CyberPeace Summit 2.0, and BECon 2026, the hackathon demonstrated how innovation, guided mentorship, and responsible technology development can translate vision into impactful solutions for a resilient digital future.
