CyberPeace and InMobi Launches Digital Jan Shakti to Build a Cyber-Resilient India
Introduction
In a landmark step towards digital empowerment, CyberPeace, in collaboration with InMobi, launched the Digital Jan Shakti Initiative on March 30th, 2025, in Ranchi. This visionary effort aims to bridge the digital divide by equipping youth and underserved communities with essential cybersecurity skills and digital literacy.
The initiative is deeply aligned with Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a safe, inclusive and digitally empowered India. With cybercrimes and online scams becoming increasingly sophisticated, this movement responds to the urgent need for cyber awareness at the grassroots level.

The launch was inaugurated by Shri Sanjay Seth, Minister of State for Defence, and was graced by an esteemed panel of dignitaries and changemakers:

What is the Digital Jan Shakti Platform
The Digital Jan Shakti platform is a nationwide empowerment initiative focused on building digital safety, cybersecurity awareness, and resilience among citizens. Designed to reach underserved communities, especially youth and women, the platform delivers contextual and local language training through in-person workshops, mobile-first learning, and community-led engagement.
The initiative aims to:
- Build awareness of cybersecurity best practices.
- Educate on risks such as phishing, fraud, and scams like digital arrests.
- Promote safe online behaviour.
- Guide users on privacy protection and digital hygiene.
- Train a network of Cyber Ambassadors to sustain outreach at the community level.
In its first phase, the program aims to reach over ten thousand beneficiaries across India, with plans to scale rapidly through partnerships and public support.

First Workshop in Ranchi: Impact and Participation
Following the launch, the first workshop was held in Ranchi with participation from over five hundred individuals, primarily from underserved communities. The training focused on essential topics such as:
- Identifying phishing messages and suspicious websites
- Creating strong passwords and understanding multifactor authentication
- Protecting personal data and privacy on digital platforms
- Navigating social media safely
- Learning how to report and respond to cybercrime
Participants showed strong interest and engagement, highlighting the urgent need for such educational initiatives at the grassroots level. The success of this session laid a strong foundation for future workshops to be held across India.
