CyberPeace and InMobi Launches Digital Jan Shakti to Build a Cyber-Resilient India

Introduction

In a landmark step towards digital empowerment, CyberPeace, in collaboration with InMobi, launched the Digital Jan Shakti Initiative on March 30th, 2025, in Ranchi. This visionary effort aims to bridge the digital divide by equipping youth and underserved communities with essential cybersecurity skills and digital literacy.

The initiative is deeply aligned with Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a safe, inclusive and digitally empowered India. With cybercrimes and online scams becoming increasingly sophisticated, this movement responds to the urgent need for cyber awareness at the grassroots level.

Event Highlights and Key Attendees

The launch was inaugurated by Shri Sanjay Seth, Minister of State for Defence, and was graced by an esteemed panel of dignitaries and changemakers:

  • Rekha Sharma, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, and Former Chairperson of the National Commission for Women

  • Dr Subi Chaturvedi, Global Senior Vice President and Chief Corporate Affairs and Public Policy Officer, InMobi

  • Major Vineet Kumar, Founder and Global President, CyberPeace

  • Mr Sanjay Mishra, Founder, Bal Kalyan Sangh

  • Ms Punita Rai, Secretary, Swawlamban

The event gathered stakeholders from government, industry, civil society, and community organizations to address the growing cyber risks faced by everyday citizens.

What is the Digital Jan Shakti Platform

The Digital Jan Shakti platform is a nationwide empowerment initiative focused on building digital safety, cybersecurity awareness, and resilience among citizens. Designed to reach underserved communities, especially youth and women, the platform delivers contextual and local language training through in-person workshops, mobile-first learning, and community-led engagement.

The initiative aims to:

  • Build awareness of cybersecurity best practices.

  • Educate on risks such as phishing, fraud, and scams like digital arrests.

  • Promote safe online behaviour.

  • Guide users on privacy protection and digital hygiene.

  • Train a network of Cyber Ambassadors to sustain outreach at the community level.

In its first phase, the program aims to reach over ten thousand beneficiaries across India, with plans to scale rapidly through partnerships and public support.

Voices of Leadership: Testimonials from the Dignitaries

Shri Sanjay Seth, Minister of State for Defence

“The Digital Jan Shakti initiative is a crucial step towards securing India’s digital future. In an era where cyber threats are evolving rapidly, I congratulate InMobi and CyberPeace for launching this platform. It will empower our youth and underserved communities with cybersecurity skills. These efforts align with our Prime Minister’s vision of a Digital India that is both inclusive and resilient.”

Rekha Sharma, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha and Former Chairperson, National Commission for Women

“Cyber safety is not just a technical concern. It is a matter of social empowerment, especially for women and marginalized groups. The Digital Jan Shakti initiative is a game changer. It ensures that even the most vulnerable individuals can navigate the digital world with confidence and protect themselves from threats like phishing and fraud.”

Dr Subi Chaturvedi, Global Senior Vice President and Chief Corporate Affairs and Public Policy Officer, InMobi

“At InMobi, we believe technology should be a force for good, and Digital Jan Shakti embodies that vision. It goes beyond awareness by building practical cyber resilience. This initiative, in collaboration with CyberPeace, reflects our shared commitment to a safer and more inclusive internet. With our first phase targeting over ten thousand beneficiaries, this will be a bottom-up movement for change.”

Major Vineet Kumar, Founder and Global President, CyberPeace

“True digital empowerment begins with education and awareness. With Digital Jan Shakti, we are not just preventing cybercrimes. We are building a generation of cyber-aware citizens. This initiative will create a nationwide network of Cyber Ambassadors who will promote responsible digital citizenship and community-level resilience.”

Mr Sanjay Mishra, Founder, Bal Kalyan Sangh

“This initiative is a major step forward in supporting underserved communities. It provides access to critical knowledge and resources, especially for children and young adults who are increasingly exposed to online risks.”

Ms Punita Rai, Secretary, Swawlamban

“Digital Jan Shakti will have a transformative impact on women and families. By making cybersecurity knowledge accessible and relevant, it strengthens community safety and uplifts digital literacy from the ground up.”

First Workshop in Ranchi: Impact and Participation

Following the launch, the first workshop was held in Ranchi with participation from over five hundred individuals, primarily from underserved communities. The training focused on essential topics such as:

  • Identifying phishing messages and suspicious websites

  • Creating strong passwords and understanding multifactor authentication

  • Protecting personal data and privacy on digital platforms

  • Navigating social media safely

  • Learning how to report and respond to cybercrime

Participants showed strong interest and engagement, highlighting the urgent need for such educational initiatives at the grassroots level. The success of this session laid a strong foundation for future workshops to be held across India.

Conclusion

The Digital Jan Shakti initiative is not just a program. It is a nationwide movement that aims to build a digitally empowered and cyber-aware society. Through collaborative efforts from government, industry, and civil society, this platform stands as a model for inclusive innovation and proactive public safety.

CyberPeace and InMobi have demonstrated how public-private partnerships can create real change when focused on education, inclusion, and empowerment. As the initiative expands across the country, it will continue to equip individuals with the tools they need to thrive in the digital age while protecting themselves and their communities.
