Our Initiatives

Digital Shakti is a national Cyber Peace initiative that aims to empower and upskill women as proud, resilient and thriving netizens of the cyber-space. Since its inception in 2018, this initiative has helped over 4.5 lakh girls, women and netizens, through awareness-building programs on key issues like social media safety, online harassment, data privacy, security tips & tricks, scam detection, cyberlaw, digital crime, threat prevention, grievance redressal and more.

Marching on with its commitment to the creation of a gender-just internet for girls and women, CyberPeace Foundation, along with National Commission for Women, Meta & Autobot Infosec, has launched the Fourth Phase of Digital Shakti. Building upon the project’s previous 3 phases, the campaign continues its work to empower women by equipping them with digital skills and knowledge, enabling them to effectively combat cyber threats and respond to any illegal or inappropriate online activities. The Fourth Phase aims to upskill 10,00,000 girls, women and netizens across India via hybrid workshops.

The fourth phase of the campaign was launched in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on the 15th of November 2022 by the Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS), Lt Gen BS Raju UYSM, AVSM, YSM. The launch was graced by Rekha Sharma, Chairperson, NCW; Major Vineet Kumar, Founder and Global President, CyberPeace Foundation; & Rajiv Aggarwal, Director and Head of Public Policy, Meta India (previously Facebook).

The CCTNS Hackathon & Cyber Challenge is organised with the aim of identifying, understanding and solving daily, ground-level issues faced by police personnel. This challenge is open to a wide variety of participants such as law enforcement officers, students, educators, tech professionals, cybersecurity enthusiasts etc.

This platform serves as a valuable opportunity for skill advancement, knowledge building and networking for its participants.

There are 9 awards in total, which are given across 3 tracks (3 awards in each track). The winners receive trophies, certificates, industry sponsored kits, and a valuable opportunity to network with senior police officers, administrators, industry experts and policy makers in the field.

The iSafe project, launched by the CyberPeace Foundation and UNICEF, aims to address child protection issues in the online world. Children and young people are particularly vulnerable in the cyberspace, facing challenges such as the production and distribution of inappropriate explicit material (CSAM), bullying, online sexual harassment, and radicalization

It is crucial to educate and raise awareness among various professionals who are often indirectly involved in the well-being of children and youth, such as police officers responsible for investigations pertaining to children-and-youths’ safety. The project focuses on training personnel from frontline workers, law enforcement agencies, social welfare organisations, health departments, education departments, and the Department of Women and Child Line, who directly interact with vulnerable adolescents. The project aims to have a wide-scale impact and consistent implementation.

Drawing on the CyberPeace Foundation's expertise in collaboration, the project covers various topics such as: the roles and responsibilities of police personnel in responding to child victims, establishing a first response mechanism, accessing relevant resources and information for further sessions, sensitising children, and raising awareness of legal remedies. The initiative also consists of multiple online training workshops to discuss best practices for dealing with adolescent victims of cybercrimes. Training materials and audio-visual aids are also provided to enhance participants' understanding of the subject matter. The participants are provided with blockchain enabled e-certificates for completing the online sessions.

The objective of the Internet Governance initiative is to make the internet a more open, secure, easily accessible and inclusive place, while also addressing challenges concerning cybersecurity, privacy and digital rights. The organisation collaborates with various stakeholders, such as governments, civil society organisations, technical communities, and academia, in order to formulate policies and strategies that guarantee a safe and inclusive digital space.

To foster inclusion, the foundation conducts Universal Acceptance (UA) sessions and workshops that encourage the adoption of UA principles and technologies. Universal Acceptance ensures that domain names and email addresses from all languages & scripts are acknowledged and supported by internet-enabled devices and applications. In other words, UA promotes digital inclusion by removing barriers to participation.

The CyberPeace Center of Excellence also works on a DNSSEC testbed and secure DNS. These efforts ensure the security, stability, and resilience of the Domain Name System (DNS) that underpins the internet. This includes a DNSSEC competition to encourage businesses and organisations to adopt this technology.
